Becoming a chiropractor first requires at least three years of undergraduate study. You may then be eligible to enroll in a Doctor of Chiropractic degree program, which can take anywhere from three and a half to five years to complete and requires a minimum of 4,200 instructional hours and 1,000 hours of fully supervised clinical training with an instructor as they learn the appropriate diagnosis and treatment. You will also need to pass a series of exams administered by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and secure licensure in the state (or relevant jurisdiction) where you plan to practice.
